It was another relaxing week where we mainly surfed and relaxed at the van. There are a lot of beautiful surf beaches on the island and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Even though we are busy arranging a lot for our next adventure, we fully enjoy the sun, the warm temperatures, and the island life vibes.

At the beginning of the week, we went a little further north every few days on the gravel road, stopping at the most beautiful surfing beaches. We also made a short walk through a gorge with beautiful sandstone formations, unfortunately, a lot of people needed to scratch their names in the stone. We also passed a very nice and hip village which surprised us quite a bit, El Cotillo. Because we had no plan at all, we decided to stay here a little longer. In the evening we walked into the village to have a nice pizza where we ran into some super trendy shops. Where there were hardly any trendy shops in Tenerife, we found quite a few here. We then walked on to a very nice Italian pizza restaurant and that pizza was finger-licking good. It went into the hot oven for a minute or two and came out as one baked delicious goodness. The next morning we also walked into the village to do the laundry and to walk past that vegan restaurant that we had seen before. Here we had a cup of coffee and I ate a delicious cake. We also made a stop at a beach full of popcorn, it was very crazy but the stones here really had the shape of popcorn.

After driving to the north, we arrived at Corralejo, a larger town here on the island. We had high expectations for this village after the hippie El Cotillo, unfortunately, it was very disappointing and some parts made us think back to Playas de Las Americas in Tenerife. The nicest thing in the village was a bakery with delicious bread, coffee, and sweets.
Because Rianne and Enzio would also be coming to Fuerteventura, we headed towards the south of the island at the end of the week. Here we found a great place to sleep by a lagoon. This flooded once every day with seawater and we played here all day long. Together with Roel and Susanne, whom we met last week, we spent the whole day chatting about traveling in the lagoon. In the evening Rianne and Enzio arrived and we took the time to catch up.

As you can see it was not a week full of very exciting things, but that will change next week with Rianne and Enzio on the island.
Love from us,
Jap and Lon
